History
After helping reduce response time for NYC ambulances by over 50%, Howard Horne set about fulfilling another lifelong passion, the practice of medicine. Intending to be a third generation physician, he left his successful public health career and returned to school at Northwestern University Medical School. He chose the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology because of his interest in ongoing relationships with his patients and his talent for surgery. After completing his residency at St. Luke's in Bethlehem, PA, where he won awards for research and teaching and served as Chief Resident, he decided to build a practice that reflected his vision for what an OB/GYN practice should be, family-like, but technically cutting edge; small enough for everyone to be friends, but affiliated with the largest, most awarded academic medical network in the region.
The dream worked and that practice is, today, Accent on Women's Health, where the focus is the individual patient and her family. As a physician owned practice, affiliated with St. Luke's University Health Network and member of St. Luke's Care, each provider has all the resources to provide state of the art care, but also the freedom of time to answer all of their patient's questions and to understand the patient's concerns and values when making decisions, and everyone in the practice knows each and every patient!
